How I Made The Most Random And Exciting Manifestation Ever

Hank Green commenting on a Renaissance Womanhood TikTok Live

Can you really manifest anything?

I’m not an expert! I don't have a regular manifestation process. It's not part of my self-care practice, but I'll dabble now and then. I’m a fan of guided journals! Beginner-level stuff.

With that said, trust that I'm now a convert! Because I think I now have proof that you can truly manifest anything! Trust me!

What is manifestation exactly?

Essentially, manifestation is bringing something tangible into your life through attraction and belief, i.e. if you think it, and it will come. However, there is more to manifestation than willpower and positive thinking . As Angelina Lombardo , the author of A Spiritual Entrepreneur , tells OprahMag.com, “manifesting is making everything you want to feel and experience a reality... via your thoughts, actions, beliefs, and emotions."

Isn't manifestation just the law of attraction?

Lao Tzu, an ancient Chinese philosopher, once said: "Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny." The idea that we attract what we put out has clearly been around since ancient times, and many credit Buddha with first introducing this notion to the world.

First, a little context

Ever heard of MSG? Well I made a TikTok ranting about MSG and how the stigma that surrounds it is deeply rooted in racism. Well, as you can imagine, it made me quite controversial! Some people were upset!

The video started blowing up! People were insisting it causes cancer, makes you stupid, and is dangerous for pregnant women. Others misunderstood the point and thought I was accusing all people with food sensitivities of racism... I woke up to a storm of comments. Check out my reply!

But, this is TikTok! My original video kept blowing up and the little follow-up was getting lost in the algorhytm. So I decided to call in reinforcements! See where this is going?

Asking the universe... or in this case, TikTok!

If you've ever dabbled in manifestation you understand the importance of making your "ask". It's the moment you put what you want out into the universe. It could be when you add it to your vision board, or say it out loud in the mirror. For me, it was a moment of reflection during a TikTok Live. And it worked!

Make your ask

Now that you've decided what you want, believe you can achieve it, and concentrated on the emotions you'll feel when you have it, it's time to make your ask!

Ask the Universe for what you want. Really put it out there. You can do this by saying a prayer, writing it in your journal, or creating a vision board of your goal. Or all three!

It all started with the third video of the MSG series...

Who does TikTok turn to when we have the question: "can I eat this"? Hank Green, of course! and how cool would it be if I could get Hank Green to fact check my video! It's worth a try!

A couple hours after having posted my plea to Hank Green, I started a TikTok Live. During that live we got talking about setting goals. I explained how I find it helpful to word my goals in the present tense or as though they have already happened. I want to run a marathon one day becomes "I am running a marathon" or "I have run my first marathon". It's an awesome mindset tool!

Then I gave the example of my recent plea to Hank Green and... well...

I'll let you see the rest for yourself...

Can you believe it? He literally joined as I said the word manifest. Did I “‘Beetlejuice’ Hank Green?? I think I did!

Hank Green’s comment: Mmmm… talking this fast is /my/ brand, thank you very much. Seriously though, yes, everything yogu say here is true.

Need more proof? The full video is on my IG. I brought receipts!

So, I've decided the answer is: yes, you can manifest anything!

... but I never expected that level of immediate gratification! What timing!

Your big sister,

Mel
